How NOT to be a Fake Expert

Don’t be that person.

It really is that simple.  Just choose not to jump on the bandwagon for personal profits by attempting to fool others into thinking you actually know what you are talking about.  In other words, put in your 10,000 hours and become a real expert.  Here are some additional quick tips to avoid being a false educator.

  • Don’t hire a Ghostwriter to write your own book
  • Don’t skyscrape someone else’s website content
  • Don’t support the syndicate that promotes Fake Expert courses
  • Don’t be pure copy of someone else

Being an Entrepreneur is real hard work

To be a true self-powered entrepreneur, you must come to the realization that there just isn’t a secret formula for real success.  There are tips and strategies for earning your way, but the idea that you can become an expert in 7 days is borderline fraud.

The reason that you find a constant stream of programs and courses for how to be a millionaire is simply based on the fact that they (those that promote the fake experts academy) make their money selling you that false potential.

It’s a lazy and sad approach to being real.  There is that type of person that travels from event to event telling people how he made $50,000 selling a book on how to carve a pumpkin and he didn’t write a word of it.  He will teach you how to be a fake expert too, just buy his program so he can travel and tell more people how to also be fake.

The story looks like this.

There is a person with a lot of money (or so it seems) and so you want to learn how he did it because he used to just sell fish and make the same as you.  Then, one day he learned that he could sell you on the idea of how to make money and in-turn he would make a lot of money.  Thus, his income is actually generated by teaching you how to make money while he doesn’t actually use the system he teaches you to use.

They become rich solely by teaching you how to be rich.

There is a person with a lot skill and a lot of money (or so it seems) and so you want to learn how he did it because he used to just sell fish and make the same as you.  Then, one day he learned that he could sell you on his ideas of how to make a lot of money and in-turn he would make a lot more money.  Thus, his real expert income is actually generated by teaching you how to be a fake expert.

In entrepreneurship, there’s no magic formula. No nine-week process to make you a millionaire. No secret in a $3000 ebook that was written by someone who's never built a business besides the one that he teaches you how to build. That shits not real. It takes work. Hard work. And those millions we see in the headlines? They are not realistic either. They’re just not. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be happy while doing it. We just need to understand why we’re doing the things we're doing, because how you make your money is way more important than how much you make. We live in a day and time where anyone with passion and love for something can build a business around it. And, although that might sound cliché because the thought of it has been bastardized, it’s just true. The Internet has opened us all to a world of opportunity, but we need to be honest with ourselves in understanding what we are seeking. You just need to be practical and self-aware. Because 30, 40, 60, years from now, you are not going to regret the few extra bucks you could have made. You are going to regret not focusing time and energy around the things that could’ve made you happy.

How is way more important than how much

If you put in the real hours and you focus on your passions, talents, strengths and love for something, then yes, you can create something of real value.

There isn’t much of an excuse anymore for not being the best you can be. We are living in a time where everything is practically at your doorstep.  It is a period where you truly can make your vacation into your vocation.

But if you sell out and cheat your way through life, it will be what haunts you in your old age too.  Not only should you follow your passions, but you should also maintain a certain level of pride knowing that you are the real deal.  And also, that you do your best to help others and not just squeeze them for their income to support you.

  1. Live around your passions
  2. Have Pride in what you do
  3. Help others get more too

When you are old and in your rocking chair thinking back on your life, you will not regret avoiding the temptation to be a fraud, but you will absolutely regret not putting your limited time and resources into what could have made you more fulfilled and happy and to have taken action on your OWN ideas.
